THE JUDICIAL COURTS
The Basilica Julia is used almost exclusively for legal matters; it houses government offices and all the tools of banking beneath it's rather impressive roof. But most importantly, the Basilica is home to the civil law courts, an aspect of society that it would be hard to do without.

TABERNAE NOVAE
As well as the monetary interests floating around the Basilica Aemilia, the building also contains numerous shops and businesses. The 'New Shops' of the Basilica do excellent business; perhaps helped by their prime location in the forum, right beside those who deal exclusively in money for a living.

THE MONEY LENDERS
The richly decorated public hall of the Basilica Aemilia was also, not surprisingly, the home to many tax collectors and money lenders. If you have any financial woes, surely the kind citizens here can give you a hand... with interest added on, of course.
