there is a distinct social structure in the city of rome, one that directly affects the lives of its citizens. below are the 'classes' being used on vox populi; it is expected for the characters here to belong to one of the following. if you are playing a being, please use these as well - since they are living in roman society, they have assimilated themselves to the social hierarchy.
patrician - the social elite, otherwise known as the upper classes. these are those with a large financial backing, traditionally rich families who live in the lap of luxury.
plebeian - the middle and lower classes. they range from the self-made rich to the very poor, and make up the majority of citizens.
liberti - or the freedmen; slaves who have earned their freedom through their service. a liberti will often enter the household of their former master, a sign of gratitude from both sides.
inferior - the slaves, exiled, and others who have lost true citizenship; they are very poorly regarded in terms of the society, however can still aspire (and sometimes achieve) more.
foreigner - not everyone in rome is a citizen of it; there are many foreigners, from places such as greece, egypt, and perhaps even the far-away north.
