NICKNAMES: when he introduces himself, he generally introduces himself as minius, the name of his slave bloodline. only close friends call him octobre, and any variants of that. he almost never goes by his new name, vetus, which was given to him upon joining the honorable vetus household.

sterling ring it's a simple band that had been passed down for generations upon generations in the bloodline of his family, ever since they were enslaved by the vetus household. he received it when his father died, and he has worn it ever since.
ANYTHING ELSE?:☼ he was born to a very long line of slaves in the vetus household. the vetus house was a very rich, very notable line of land-owners whom had enslaved the minius family generations ago, and ever since then, his family has been serving each generation to come. think of the house-elves of the malfoy family, except the vetus were actually semi-civil to their slaves.
☼ his mother died during childbirth, and his father when he was only four from an infection. they were both of the "inner circle" of the slaves serving the vetus, meaning they were the ones who cleaned house and actually interacted with them, instead of working on the land, etc. therefore, the inner circle of servants had always been called minius, and his surname had been primus before he officially joined the vetus household.
☼ he became the personal "handmaiden" for the youngest son of the current, main vetus line; angelos, and when octobre turned fifteen, he was freed from slavery on angelos's request, and simply because octobre had always done a very good job for the vetus, and served almost as a personal butler than really a slave. he was sort of the boy that accompanied the vetus family on all of their trips to carry their things, etc.
☼ despite being "fired", octobre decided to join the household as an inferior member, and continued to preform his maid duties about the house, though this time it was not limited to being the clean-up boy and angelos's personal servant.
☼ ever since a young age, octobre could paint, and the vetus household quickly realized this and put him to the task. he has made portraits of all of the family members, and while they are not the centerpeice and only hang in dusty corners of the scarcest rooms, angelos had taken a very big liking to his paintings, and had commissioned ( and is, in fact, still ) octobre to paint portrait after portrait of him.
