FRIENDS - - the question really isn’t whether or not he has friends, but more so does he consider anyone as such. it is hard enough for him to do much else than work and train and while he does like social activities, seliane is surprisingly awkward outside of his vocation. he would have a few close friends within the army but not many due to the fact that having friends in the like occupation leaves too many emotional hazards down the line. he likes his life simple and friends would most certainly complicate it, not to mention it takes him a while to warm up to people in general. but it is not impossible. seliane is more likely to have friendly acquaintances (opposed to outright friends) outside of his duties and who are unaffiliated with the military. ENEMIES - - there would certainly be no shortage of dislike toward this man so by all means, bring on the angst. with him being of such low birth and ascending to the station of legatus, there must be a little controversy as to how acceptable it is to have peasant stock running rome’s defenses and attaining such a distinguished title. if his rank doesn’t spark envy then his demeanor alone is worthy of a few sore spots both in and out of the service. if you are a woman you are weak in his eyes and while he may not be rude or belittling, he certainly will treat females with a certain lack of respect. if you happen to be male and are weak (usually of military standing) he is liable give a vitriolic poke or two. rivals will occasionally be harassed and those of the senate are seen as potential enemies to his liege – basically an all around not so nice guy. LOVERS - - as far as lovers go seliane might have a bit of a problem. he is an exceptionally shy man, refusing to so much as eat or sleep in the presence of others so the idea of a physical relationship is a venture he would avoid like the plague. he is sexually ambiguous, borderline asexual for while he may think you are pretty you will likely not be pretty enough to get him to drop his misconceptions of what a commander should and should not be at whichever point in time. he isn’t actively looking for anyone at the moment but feel free to make mention of ideas concerning this area. OTHERS - - childhood friends or enemies are the most likely to fit in this category. seliane was born to a clan of peasants so naturally he would have had friends of the same or slightly higher social standing but left home at thirteen to join the military. past lovers are a no-go, he’s shy about going to sleep and doesn’t sleep around either. if you can think of anything to place here feel free to make a move.
